Crispy oven-baked chicken coated in a golden cornflake crust, finished with a spicy-sweet hot honey drizzle. Bold, flavorful, and healthier than fried.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 12 tbsp hot sauce
  • 3 cups cornflakes, crushed
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne
  • Olive oil spray

Hot Honey:

  • ½ cup honey
  • 12 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce (30 mins–overnight).
  2. Mix cornflakes, panko, and spices.
  3. Preheat oven to 425°F. Coat chicken in crumbs. Place on wire rack.
  4. Spray with oil. Bake 22–25 mins until crispy and cooked through.
  5. Simmer honey, hot sauce, and butter for 1–2 mins.
  6. Drizzle over chicken and serve.

Notes

  • Air fryer friendly: 390°F for 15–18 mins.
  • Adjust heat to taste with more or less hot sauce.
  • Serve with slaw or sweet potatoes.
