Creamy Spicy Cajun Sausage Pasta is a bold, one-pan dish packed with smoky sausage, tender pasta, and a rich Cajun-spiced cream sauce that’s ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

12 oz penne or rotini pasta
14 oz smoked sausage, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 small onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
¾ cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup grated Parmesan
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sear sausage in olive oil until browned. Remove from skillet.
  3. In same pan, sauté onion and bell pepper in butter. Add garlic.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and Cajun seasoning. Cook 1 minute.
  5. Add broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in cream and Parmesan.
  6. Return sausage and pasta to skillet. Toss to coat. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For extra heat, add red pepper flakes. Use half-and-half to lighten the sauce. Store leftovers in fridge for up to 4 days.
