Brown Butter Pecan Cookies are soft, chewy, and nutty, with a rich, caramel-like flavor from browned butter and toasted pecans.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups pecans, toasted and chopped

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter until golden and nutty, then cool slightly.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment.
  3. Cream browned butter with sugars until smooth.
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla until incorporated.
  5. Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  6. Fold in toasted pecans.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto sheets, flatten slightly.
  8. Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are golden and centers soft.
  9. Cool on sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
  10. Store in airtight container up to 5 days.

Notes

Toast pecans for extra flavor. Chill dough to prevent spreading. Optional chocolate chips for added indulgence.
