Creamy, buttery parmesan pasta made in one pan with just five ingredients. A simple, satisfying dinner ready in under 25 minutes with no draining required.

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz dry pasta (penne, fusilli, or similar)
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup freshly grated parmesan
to 4 cups water or broth
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional toppings: parsley, chili flakes, lemon zest

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds.
  2. Stir in pasta and add water or broth to just cover. Season with salt.
  3. Simmer uncovered, stirring often, for 10–12 minutes until pasta is tender.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in parmesan until melted and creamy.
  5. Add pepper, adjust salt, and garnish as desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Use cold, dry pasta for best texture. Freshly grated parmesan melts best. Add splash of warm water to loosen sauce if needed.
