A bold and creamy one-pot Cajun pasta made with smoked sausage, tender pasta, and a rich garlic-Parmesan cream sauce. Spicy, cozy, and ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
23 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
23 tsp Cajun seasoning
8 oz short pasta (penne, rotini, etc.)
2 1/2 cups chicken broth
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet. Brown sausage for 4–5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic for 1–2 minutes. Add bell pepper if using.
  3. Stir in Cajun seasoning and uncooked pasta.
  4. Pour in broth. Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in cream, Parmesan, and return sausage to pan. Simmer 2–3 minutes more.
  6. Adjust seasoning and serve hot with parsley or extra cheese.

Notes

Use shrimp or chicken instead of sausage. Adjust spice level to taste. Add spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
