A rich, comforting creamy ranch chicken recipe made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a savory homemade ranch cream sauce. Perfect for weeknights or special dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons ranch seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chopped parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and a little ranch seasoning.
  2. Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken 5–6 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits.
  5. Add heavy cream and cream cheese. Stir until smooth.
  6. Stir in ranch seasoning and Parmesan. Simmer 3–5 minutes.
  7. Return chicken to pan. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
  8. Garnish and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, use half-and-half and low-fat cream cheese. Add red pepper flakes for heat, or swap in spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost.
