Sour Cream Beef Noodle Casserole is a layered baked dish with egg noodles, seasoned ground beef, creamy sour cream mixture, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

12 ounces egg noodles
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt divided
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup sour cream
4 ounces cream cheese softened
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook egg noodles until al dente and drain.
  3. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce and seasonings and simmer.
  5. Mix sour cream and cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Layer noodles, sour cream mixture, and beef in baking dish.
  7. Repeat layers and top with cheese.
  8. Bake covered 20 minutes, then uncovered 10 to 15 minutes.
  9. Rest before serving.

Notes

Do not overcook noodles before baking.
Allow casserole to rest before slicing.
Store refrigerated up to four days.
