A rich, spicy Cajun-inspired pasta dish with tender chicken, sautéed peppers, and a creamy Parmesan sauce—comfort food with a bold Southern twist.

Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast or thighs, sliced
12 oz pasta (penne, linguine, fettuccine)
1 1/2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
2 oz cream cheese (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss chicken with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Sear chicken in oil until golden. Remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté onion and pepper in butter until soft. Add garlic.
  5. Pour in cream, stir in Parmesan and cream cheese. Simmer.
  6. Add lemon juice and more Cajun seasoning if needed.
  7. Return chicken and pasta to the pan. Toss to coat.
  8. Simmer 2–3 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Use shrimp or sausage as a variation. Add pasta water to thin the sauce as needed.
