This Crockpot Chicken and Gravy is the comfort food classic your grandma swore by—tender chicken slow-cooked in rich, creamy gravy and perfect over mashed potatoes or rice.

Ingredients

  • 23 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1½ cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: ½ cup sour cream or 4 oz cream cheese
  • Optional garnishes: chopped parsley or thyme

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, whisk gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, broth, and seasonings.
  3. Pour over chicken. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3½–4 hours.
  4. Shred chicken with forks and return to crockpot.
  5. Stir in sour cream or cream cheese if using. Let warm through.
  6. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits.

Notes

  • Add frozen veggies in the last hour for a complete meal.
  • Make gluten-free by using certified GF gravy mix and soup.
  • Freezer-friendly for up to 3 months.
