These crispy beef tacos feature seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and your favorite toppings in golden taco shells. Baked to perfection for a crunchy, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste or ⅓ cup salsa
  • 23 tbsp taco seasoning
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1012 hard taco shells
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream, avocado, cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In skillet, heat oil and sauté onion for 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, taco seasoning, and water. Simmer 3–5 minutes.
  5. Arrange taco shells in baking dish. Sprinkle cheese in bottom of each.
  6. Fill shells with beef mixture and top with more cheese.
  7. Bake 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and shells are crisp.
  8. Add toppings and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, soak up extra beef fat before filling tacos. Keep shells upright using foil or a muffin tin. Customize with your favorite toppings.
