Chicken Shawarma with Garlic Sauce features tender spiced chicken marinated with lemon and warm spices, served with creamy garlic sauce and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

pounds boneless chicken thighs
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon coriander
½ teaspoon turmeric
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper

Garlic Sauce:
4 cloves garlic
½ cup oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices in a bowl.
2. Add chicken and coat thoroughly with the marinade.
3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
4. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
5. Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until fully cooked.
6. Allow chicken to rest briefly and slice into thin strips.
7. Blend garlic sauce ingredients until smooth and creamy.
8. Warm pita bread slightly.
9. Fill pita with chicken and vegetables.
10. Drizzle garlic sauce over the filling and serve.

Notes

Marinating the chicken overnight allows the spices and lemon to create deeper flavor.
