A comforting dish combining soft potatoes and sweet peas in a creamy white sauce seasoned with butter and simple spices.

Ingredients

2 cups baby potatoes, halved
1 1/2 cups frozen peas
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water for 10–12 minutes until tender, then drain.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Slowly whisk in milk, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add salt, pepper, and onion powder, stirring well.
  6. Add cooked potatoes and peas to the sauce.
  7. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until heated through and well combined.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Use whole milk for a creamier texture.
Add a small amount of cream for a richer sauce if desired.
