3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in toasted pecans and optional cinnamon or chocolate.
  6. Scoop dough onto sheets and flatten slightly.
  7. Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
  9. Store in airtight container up to 5 days.
