Masala Macaroni is a bold, spicy fusion pasta dish combining Indian spices with macaroni for a comfort food twist. Perfect for lunchboxes, family dinners, or quick weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni

  • 1 tbsp oil or ghee

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 green chili, chopped

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tomato, chopped

  • ¼ cup bell pepper

  • ¼ cup peas or carrots (optional)

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp red chili powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional: ketchup, lemon juice, coriander, grated cheese

Instructions

  • Cook macaroni until al dente, drain, and set aside.

  • In a skillet, heat oil and sizzle cumin seeds.

  • Add onion, green chili, and ginger-garlic paste; sauté.

  • Stir in tomatoes and cook until soft. Add spices and cook masala.

  • Add bell pepper and other veggies; cook 2–3 mins.

  • Toss in macaroni and mix well. Cook for 2–3 more mins.

  • Garnish with coriander and lemon. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Make vegan with oil and no cheese

  • Add paneer or tofu for protein

  • Adjust spice level to your taste

  • Great for lunchboxes or leftovers
