A spicy, no-cheese Indian-style macaroni pasta made with a tomato-onion masala and fragrant spices. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for lunch, dinner, or snack time.
1½ cups elbow macaroni
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 medium onion, chopped
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 cup bell pepper, diced
1/4 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
Salt to taste
1 tsp ketchup (optional)
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and rinse.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
Add onion and sauté until golden. Add garlic and tomatoes.
Cook until tomatoes are soft. Add spices and mix well.
Add bell pepper and peas. Cook 3–4 minutes.
Add macaroni and toss until well coated. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
Adjust spice to taste
