A spicy, no-cheese Indian-style macaroni pasta made with a tomato-onion masala and fragrant spices. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for lunch, dinner, or snack time.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups elbow macaroni

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder

  • 1/4 tsp garam masala

  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, diced

  • 1/4 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tsp ketchup (optional)

  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro

Instructions

  • Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and rinse.

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.

  • Add onion and sauté until golden. Add garlic and tomatoes.

  • Cook until tomatoes are soft. Add spices and mix well.

  • Add bell pepper and peas. Cook 3–4 minutes.

  • Add macaroni and toss until well coated. Simmer 2–3 minutes.

  • Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust spice to taste

  • Use any pasta you prefer

  • Add paneer, tofu, or chickpeas for protein
