Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter, stir in sugar, beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Fold in cocoa, flour, salt, then chocolate chips.
  4. Pour into pan and spread evenly.
  5. Bake 25–30 minutes until edges set and center has moist crumbs.
  6. Cool completely, lift from pan, cut into squares.

Notes

Optionally add nuts or chocolate chunks. Slightly underbake for fudgier brownies.
