Ingredients

Scale

1 lb steak (flank, sirloin, or ribeye), sliced
12 oz pasta (fettuccine, penne, or rigatoni)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
3 garlic cloves, minced

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup reserved pasta water
Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water. Drain.
  2. Season steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear in butter and oil for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove.
  3. In same pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add cream and simmer 2–3 minutes. Stir in Parmesan and pasta water.
  4. Add pasta and steak to skillet. Toss to coat and heat through.
  5. Garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

Use half-and-half for a lighter version. Add mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.
