Easy Fudgy Brownies with a soft, chewy center and slightly crisp edges, ready in under an hour.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch pan.
  2. Melt butter and stir in sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Fold in cocoa, flour, salt, and chocolate chips.
  4. Pour into pan and smooth top.
  5. Bake 25–30 minutes until edges set and center has moist crumbs.
  6. Cool completely, lift from pan, and cut into squares.

Notes

Slightly underbake for extra fudginess. Optional: add nuts, caramel, or white chocolate.
