Simple Browned Butter Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies are chewy, nutty, and chocolaty, with caramel-like flavor from browned butter.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups pecans, toasted and chopped
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter until golden and nutty, then cool slightly.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Cream browned butter with sugars until smooth.
  4. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in toasted pecans and chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto sheets, flatten slightly.
  8. Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are golden and centers soft.
  9. Cool 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
  10. Store in airtight container up to 5 days.

Notes

Toast pecans for extra flavor. Sprinkle sea salt for contrast. Chill dough to prevent spreading.
