1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
Optional: powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour and salt; gradually fold into butter mixture.
  5. Fold in toasted pecans.
  6. Scoop dough into balls and flatten slightly.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to wire rack. Optional: roll in powdered sugar.
  9. Store in airtight container up to 5 days.
