This cheesy sour cream chicken is baked until tender and smothered in a creamy, cheesy sauce for the ultimate quick comfort food dinner.

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Place chicken breasts in dish. Pound to even thickness if needed.
  3. In a bowl, mix sour cream, cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Spread mixture evenly over chicken.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden top (optional).
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version. Try adding cooked bacon or herbs for extra flavor.
