A sweet-and-savory Korean-style beef bowl made with ground beef, garlic, ginger, and a sticky soy glaze—served over rice and topped with green onions and sesame seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 23 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook rice and keep warm.
  2. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high. Add ground beef and cook until browned, 6–8 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger. Cook 1–2 minutes.
  4. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil. Pour into skillet.
  5. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve over rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Use tamari for gluten-free. Add veggies or a fried egg for a full meal. Adjust sugar and chili to taste.
