Turtle Cookies Recipe – Chewy Chocolate, Caramel & Pecans

Turtle Cookies are buttery cookies topped with gooey caramel, toasted pecans, and rich chocolate for a melt-in-your-mouth treat.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
12 soft caramel candies, unwrapped
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and salt to form dough.
  4. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto sheets and flatten slightly.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  6. Melt caramels with cream and spoon onto cookies.
  7. Top with toasted pecans.
  8. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle or spread over cookies.
  9. Allow to set at room temperature or refrigerate.
  10. Store in airtight container up to 5 days.

Notes

Toast pecans for best flavor. Use soft caramels for smooth texture. Optional chocolate drizzle for decoration.
