This cozy creamed cabbage and ground beef casserole features tender cabbage, savory beef, and a rich, cheesy cream sauce baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
67 cups chopped green cabbage
1 small onion, diced
23 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
4 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup broth or milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dried parsley or thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Remove from pan.
  3. Sauté onion in olive oil for 2–3 minutes. Add garlic and cabbage. Cook until wilted, 5–7 minutes.
  4. Stir in cream cheese, sour cream, and broth. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Return beef to pan and combine well.
  6. Transfer mixture to baking dish. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly. Broil 2–3 minutes for golden top.
  8. Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in fridge for up to 4 days. Freeze unbaked or baked for up to 3 months.
