This Korean ground beef bowl is a fast and flavorful dish made with sweet and savory beef, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce — perfect over rice for a 20-minute meal.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
1 tsp sesame oil
Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cups cooked rice
2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Once browned, add garlic and ginger. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add soy sauce and brown sugar. Stir and let simmer 2–3 minutes.
  5. Turn off heat and stir in sesame oil. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Serve beef over rice. Top with green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Optional: Add pickled veggies or a fried egg for more flavor

Notes

Store leftovers in fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Use tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free version.
