A traditional Egyptian pastry made with flaky phyllo dough layered around a seasoned ground beef filling.
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 package phyllo dough thawed
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup milk
2 eggs
Keep phyllo covered while working to prevent drying.
