Tender slow-cooked beef served on toasted rolls with melted cheese and a rich dipping broth.

Ingredients

2 1/2 pounds beef chuck roast
3 cups beef broth
1 packet onion soup mix
1/2 cup sliced onion
3 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 tablespoons butter
6 sandwich rolls
6 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place beef in slow cooker.
  2. Add broth, seasoning, onion, garlic, and sauces.
  3. Cook on low 7–8 hours or high 4–5 hours.
  4. Shred beef and return to broth.
  5. Add butter and stir.
  6. Assemble sandwiches with cheese.
  7. Toast until cheese melts and serve with broth.

Notes

Sear beef first for extra flavor if desired.
